When you submit a resume to an employer, send it as a PDF document (Adobe’s Portable Document Format). This will help to ensure that there are no display problems or compatibility errors with your file.

Don’t know how to create a PDF? Download the free utility “CutePDF”. This creates a “printer” which allows you to “print” your file as a PDF document.

I’d also suggest that sometimes when you try to submit your resume as a .pdf you will find that some job sites have a file size limit, and your resume will be too large. The best way to get around that is to “optimize” it within Adobe Acrobat or NitroPDF or the “Minimize Size” option in Microsoft Word, either option should allow you to significantly shrink the size of your resume.
